About popkr

John Kueh

Hey, I'm John.

Software engineer in Sydney. I built popkr.

I'm John Kueh. I write software. I made this site because English K-beauty pages kept collapsing a brand INCI list, a TikTok recap, and a Reddit thread into one review — often after the bottle on the shelf had already changed.

K-beauty moves fast. A serum goes #1 at Olive Young in Seoul, TikTok catches fire, and for months the only English “reviews” are affiliate blogs written by people who never opened the bottle.

popkr is an independent, versioned formula and real-world-use database for English-speaking buyers. Official product facts, attributed public discussion, direct Field Notes from people who used the product, and popkr analysis stay in separate classes. I do not invent hands-on testing. If nobody sent a Field Note, the page says so.

How content is made

Brands and retailers get no control over sentiment, ranking, preview, or suppression. There is no paid placement. Affiliate links, when present, pay the same regardless of the verdict. Here's exactly how evidence works. Money is explained on the affiliate disclosure.

If a formula is wrong, a version is stale, or a page is thin, email me.
